There is nothing more fun than shopping. With so many beautiful baubles and trinkets to find, looking for unique pieces is what I love most. And usually when I'm shopping for something unique, I shop vintage.
Shopping through vintage stores and antique shops is both exciting and different. Holding a relic from a past life can somehow make the present feel more interesting, and can help reassure one that good times have come and gone, but will return again. This weekend I decided to rummage through a few antique shops to find unique pieces for my home. While clothing is always a great thing to invest in, finding vintage magazines or antique tea cups is always fun to play around with and to add to my collection.
I decided to take a trip down to South Pasadena to do my shopping. I love the quiet streets and corner cafes spilling over with soft music and sprinkled with hidden gems. My two favorite stores to hit up is the "Hot Box" and "Hodgson's Antiques." The hot box is literally just that. With the whole story being no larger than my closet, it is still filled to the brim with more interesting pieces than my closet hopes to ever accumulate.
While the Hot Box houses more clothing and jewelry, Hodgson's Antiques feels like a time warp. With magazines, printed ads and envelopes of letters sent and received, walking into the store is always a treat. Shopping is always fun, but when time travel is involved, it just becomes that much more sweeter.
The best part about these gems is that no one know's about them, making all of what I find that much more special!
