Next to Halloween, Valentine's Day is one of my most favorite holidays!
I know it seems most random, one spooky holiday and one lovey, mushy ooey gooey holiday, but I love them both the same. There's something magical about the red and pink, the love and whimsy attached to the holiday. It seems like all that the holiday asks of you is to love your neighbor and to love yourself. It doesn't ask for roses or for chocolates, and it doesn't care if you make millions or pennies, all it asks is for love. It is the one glorious day in the year where you can truly take the time to look at those around you and say this three little words, "I love you."
Even if you're single, it's a great day to carve out time for yourself and not feel guilty about it! After all, loving someone is just as important as loving yourself. Taking the time to say, "yes I will have an extra scoop of ice cream because I deserve it" is not only necessary, but required on the day of love. It's a day of pampering and of telling yourself that no matter what lies ahead, the mistakes you've made or the goals you've achieved, that you will love yourself always through them all.
In my opinion, being single on Valentine's Day is the most special. You can go anywhere you want, with whoever you want, and have a grand old time doing whatever your heart desires.
However, if you don't agree with me, watch the movie "How to Be Single."
Best. Valentines. Day. Movie. Ever.
