As evidence by my last post, there is nothing I love more than going to the beach and laying under the sun. When summer hits, all I want to do is waste the days away under the hot sun with a cool breeze.
Everyone always talks about what they ~*LoVe~* to wear, and the best swimsuits around, which I totally get and appreciate, but what about the after? What about the hair, and the cover-ups? What are the best garments to pack, and more importantly, what pieces can take you from the beach to a restaurant after, and still make you look presentable?
Well, I'm here to help. Below are a few items that help me get ready after a day at the beach to a night out on the town.
'Cause, you already know, your girl doesn't have time to stop.
After swimming all day, the last thing I want to do is go home and wash my hair *again* after it's already been in water. Okay this may be #gross but after the I'm done swimming to my heart's content, I immediately apply a leave-in conditioner. This allows my hair to get back the nutrients it needs, and allows me to not worry about washing my hair and stripping it of even more oils. #win!
There is nothing worse than having a huge make-up bag filled with crap that will melt under the sun. When I know I'm going to be dining and doing after rolling around in the sand, I always keep a powder compact by my side. It doesn't melt, it comes with an applicator and has a built in mirror! It's the easiest thing to throw around and to apply. All you need is a swipe of mascara and some gloss and you're good to go.
The biggest challenge is finding something that can look cute for any occasion. Something that is comfortable but also functional. Something that can keep up with you.
That something is a dress.
I feel the best perk about being a girl is that we can wear dresses. They cover a multitude of sins, and are always easy to throw on.
Feel fat? Wear a dress. Running late? A dress makes you look pulled together. Don't want to pair two clothing pieces? Did someone say "dress?"
You get the point.
Below are a few dresses that are light and airy and great as not only a cover-up, but also as an actual functional garment that makes you look put together by society's standards. Best part is that most of them are cotton, so they are beatable if you're still sporting a wet bikini.
Last but not least are swimsuit bags. These can keep all your items stored away nicely. They are functional, and keep sand out for the most part, and are waterproof-ish! They can carry all your loose ends while you're splashing around in the surf.
Hope you were able to find some fun new items to take with you to your next beach getaway or poolside vacay!
