Recently I have been falling in love all over again with things around me. Ever buy a hair tie that you swear up and down and side ways that it always tangles your hair and you have just had enough? Come to find three months later it's your new bff?
Well that has been happening to me recently. All of these forgotten items that have put to the way side have suddenly resurfaced, and I could not be happier! I mean, some of these faves have always been long standing go-to's of mine, but the majority of them were just waiting in the wings, waiting for me to discover that they are my true love.
Hair Ties- Okay, so like, could I be any more transparent? Way to go, Emily, using the example in the opening paragraph as your first "unveiling" of your Aha moment. But no, really, my whole life changed when I grabbed this little hair tie. It's said to promise no creasing and no tangling. You know when you've had a long day, and all you want to do is rip your hair tie out of your hair and fall asleep... yea, well it's never really ended that pleasantly for my hair until this came along. I can literally take this out of my hair with little to no fuss at all. It doesn't leave my hair in a knotted mess, and also gives my pony a little something when it sits on top of my head. It's the most beautiful invention ever, and I love how quirky and different it is.
Also, scrunchies are totally having a moment again, and I am not mad about it. Especially if they're velvet.
Hoop Earrings- OK, can I just say, until recently I have abhorred the idea of a Hoop Earring. I absolutely detested the idea of one ever coming across my earlobe, until recently. Maybe the planets aligned differently, and this change doesn't have as much to do with me as it does the universe, but I am OBSESSED with a hoop. Albeit, a medium sized hoop, but a hoop nonetheless. I especially love a thin silver medium sized hoop. They are just so delicious and make any outfit instantly more sparkly? If that's even possible? Maybe it's just me
Dainty Rings- Now we are getting more into the "realm of reason" as far as my obsessions are concerned. I have always loved dainty jewelry. I love everything from whisper-thin necklaces to barely-there rings. Basically, anything that is small ,but still sparkles is a must in my book. So these beautiful little trinkets are not something that I have necessarily "fallen in love with" again, but are just something I recently remembered to covet again. Cat Bird's display of whisper thin pieces are absolutely insane. They are the best kind of dainty, and their engagement ring section has me saving ring after ring endlessly to my wish list. And I'm not one for all things bridal.
In my perfect little world, I would have their new collection FedEx-ed directly to my jewelry box every season.
Well-Heeled Sandals- I don't know quite what to call these: stacked heeled sandals, sandals, heels, open-toed shoes? Whatever these are, I have always wanted a pair, but I never really took the time to go out of my way to purchase them. Yes, they are cute. Yes, everyone has them. Yes, I always look at myself and question why I didn't purchase them earlier when I want something that will make me look just a little bit more fancy for a night out. Well, now I shall complain no more. I have finally bought a pair, and I am forever grateful;. They are the perfect solution to adding a little glamour without committing to an overly fancy look. I love that they are chic enough to give your ripped up denim some sophistication, but also conservative enough in the heel department to prevent your feet from aching with every step. Also, maybe I have been blind for most of my life, but Target has a great selection, which is actually where I recently purchased my first pair. Let me tell you, I have not taken them off my feet since.
Hope you loved my ramblings and hopefully found something new to love too!
