Ahhh, well, this week we had some warm weather. It was basically up to 90 which had me jumping for joy, but now it's back to a much cooler climate. Oh well, at least my makeup isn't sweating off my face?
I love this look, I love how ethereal it is and how easy. I like how the sweater is a bit heavier of a fabric compared to the cotton skirt. I love that. I love when a heavier fabric is paired with a lighter one, playing with the hard and soft element is something I'm fascinated by. You would think that having a heavier pieces would make the outfit seem bulky or sit heavy, but it's quite the opposite when done well. It can give the outfit some structure and also, if the same color, creates a streamlined look.
Isn't it amazing that the whites of both garments are practically the same? When does that ever happen? Anyways, this look made me realize that this summer I'm on the hunt for a lot of light fabrics and whites. I also want to incorporate more gold necklaces in some way. I love how they look all tangled and messy. When I was in college I would always have chains strung around my neck and looping themselves together. At the end of the day it would take a full thirty minutes just to undo them, so I could do it all again the next day!
Gotta love consistency.
