It looks like straight fall in the pictures. Is that just me? It looks like the leaves are a beautiful golden yellow, which is fun, but no, this is winter. Actually, it's winter now. These pictures were taken back some time ago, but that's no matter. This dress is back to my one part comfortable one part polished formula. I think I have cracked down my style coding? Style is something that is ever evolving I feel. There are decades I love over more than others, silhouettes I want to wear that are structured and some pieces that are deconstructed and bohemian.
I feel so often my style identity can be all over the place, but as I am re-working my closet more and more, I am coming to learn that I have a slight theme to all that I wear. I have always loved a very rock n' roll, edge of your seat, passing out when the sun comes up take on life, but I also love the joys of early mornings, good books and sipping tea while watching an old film. I think I am realizing that my garments may slightly reflect that. They are comfortable and put together, but I could also grunge any of them up with a tattered flannel or some lace-up boots. Not that this look is anywhere near grunge, but it's a bit more edgy... right?
I hear the laughter.
Anyways, this dress is polished but also a great piece that can transition no matter the occasion or season. Paired with tights and boots: I'm ready for colder months, or paired with some loafers and sunnies and I'm onto the warmer months. Both are wonderful options. Finding a polished piece that makes you feel comfortable can make any event so much more exciting.
Because life needs any excuse to be exciting.
