Back at it with the sub-par photoshop. I will get better, and personally, I think it could be worse...? Any who, I will be up in the air soon and my mind has been consumed with all things travel. I would hardly call myself an expert, but after traveling to 5 different countries within the past year, I like to think I may have picked up one or two things.
I love to travel, I don't think there is anything quite more perfect in the whole world than getting on a flight and letting someone move about the cabin to bring you water or food for the next 9 or so hours, along with the benefit of being unable to reach ANYONE the whole time. There really is no nirvana quite like that of an airplane seat a million miles up in the sky, practically untouched by those below.
Ahhhhhh, but onto the fashion.
The outfit I linked is pretty basic, but super comfortable. Whether you're flying internationally or domestically, donning something basic and chic is the easiest way to go. Also, LAYERS! This sweater is great because you can have a breezy top underneath. Which means an extra layer for the cold cabin, bu also you can take it off when you reach your warmer destination.
Also, this carry on I have linked above is the mini version of the luggage of my dreams. I saw it on a train ride from Greece to Italy and I never thought I'd find it again, just to end up finding that it is by Kelsey, which is a luggage brand I already own use and love, so I know it's worth the price when I someday (hopefully) acquire such a beautiful piece. Also, the only thing I carry on in my roller carry on are shoes. That's pretty much it. And maybe you're thinking, "Wow high maitnence much?" Well when you are packing your wardrobe for an entire month into the size of a 32" suitcase and wonder why your space and weight is being eaten up by things you strap on your feet, you may just reconsider. Also, what really do you need in a roller carry-on anyways? It's all just going in the overhead bin, everything you need will be in your tote under your passenger seat.
And what will be in that beautiful tote sitting under your seat: your wallet! While the one linked above isn't "chic" it's practical. It holds your passport, your boarding pass, your american money and any other note or bill you may be carrying. It's easy painless and you're not shuffling through three different wallets trying to find the right documentation when you pass over border control.
Also, what is a flight without some reading. I personally love to read anywhere (uninterrupted, ideally) and a plane is perfect for creating a somewhat quiet sanctuary. Also, can we talk about the Paris Review for a minute. Their Podcast is everything! I found it when I came back from San Fransisco and felt I needed a little more culture in my life, and the podcast fits the bill perfectly. After listening to the whole first season, I subscribed to my first year, and I can't wait until it arrives so I can lose myself in the works of modern day poets and authors. It's definitely a subscription worth looking into.
Wow. Okay. That was a lot, but those are my thoughts and essentials and why I carry those essentials. I hope you enjoyed my little rant and found something new.
Or maybe this was just a re-iteration of what you already knew? Regardless...
