This is a simple outfit for when you feel fat and just cannot stand the idea of pants, or anything clingy for that matter. Have you notices, or is it just me, that pretty much all jeans are skin tight? I mean, obviously to stay on said body they need to cling on the that body, but it’s like, why can’t they give me an inch or just hiding my imperfections? I mostly shop at urban for my denim, if you can even call it that, and they have so much elastic, it’s not surprising to me that they cling to the body, but enough about jeans. We are not here for that.
I love a slip dress, always, and I thought “How can we take a slip dress and make it more wearable,” and duh: layering! I realize when it’s hot the last thing you want to do is layer, under or over, so I thought also, “What’s breathable, and lightly woven?” Things that are linen (haven’t we learned anything from this post). I love that this sweater is comfortable and not all itchy, since it’s linen. It catches the light beautifully and it can be worn over a slip dress, and worn over a bikini just as easily.
It may look a little “matronly,” but paired with the right accessories, it can add a bit of texture to an otherwise plain outfit. I also love that this happens to be linen. I own two linen sweaters, and I find they are so difficult to find, and they pull so easily, which does cause me to die a little every time, be warned, but every time I am lucky enough to find a linen piece I take the chance and snatch it.
I have always loved linen, and I am so pleased to see that linen is becoming a solid trend for this season. With the woven bags, and espadrilles adding a linen piece, or two, makes for the perfect ensemble.
And it makes it easier to pretend we’re on a beach in Santorini.
