Let’s talk accessories. Specifically summer accoutrements. While Silver is always a great metal to add some shimmer, I feel during the summer I gravitate towards the warmth of gold. There is something rich and inviting about draping a layered gold chain around a sun kissed neck, or something luxurious about donning a thick gold hoop and a swipe of red lipstick for a night out.
It catches the sun, and gives some color to an otherwise pale summer palette. Not saying that there can’t be vibrant colors, but I find I gravitate towards white quite a bit during summer, so having a gold detail helps to make the outfit a little more sophisticated. These pieces are the ones I grab no matter where I’m headed, and I find that they are the perfect pieces to have in a summer accessory arsenal. The layered necklace is great for deep V-necks or high necklines alike, and the circle earrings give a little bit of dimension, but aren’t as over the top as say the chubby gold hoops that are just begging to be worn for a night out. Also, a beaded earring is different and fun, and also gives the effect of something handmade and one of a kind, even if it’s not.
There are so many fun options when it comes to summer, and layering jewelry is the best way to grab attention without sweating through a dress or a top. Grab a bikini, and a piece of gold, and you’re good to go.
