Well fall has officially landed here now that we are cemented in September, the official day of fall is next week, and I have bought Bath and Body Works out of all their fall candles, we can officially nod to the beginning of the new season.
Currently I am burning this candle.
And while I love Halloween, I feel it has started out very early this year, to the point where I thought it was already October, and that threw me for a loop.
Any who, let's get back to what you came her for: The Fall Edit! While fashion month is still well underway, and I am sitting here at home live streaming all that is happening in NYC soon to be London Town, I have rounded up a list of the fall trends I will be taking with me this fall season. While the trends are still being doled out, this list is neither here nor there, but it gives us all an excuse to shop, and who doesn't love that?
While I was not fully in love with this look in the beginning I must say it has come to grow on me. I myself look like a Palms Springs socialite on her way to a late brunch after my Calisthenics class, so anything that might make me look more matronly, I'm not a huge fan of. But my love for menswear inspired looks triumphed for this one, and, I must say, I do like the idea of an oversized plaid blazer (If your on my Instagram check out my Insta stories and you'll see what I'm talking about (plug, plug, plug)). It's quite cute and keeps you bundled up while not being an obvious choice, which I love!
Okay, can we just take a moment. This title is by far the most random pieced together title yet. I honestly have had such a hard time finding this, and I have no idea why. I mean, how fun would a PVC clad leg look poking underneath a tied up trench coat while your bopping down a street on a drizzly fall day? So cute and unexpected, and the shine form the PVC is a little different than your normal black legging. Also, it's super easy to clean up. So whether you spilled your Aperol Spritz or need to wipe away a little drizzle, this pant has you covered.
Leopard Midi Skirt
Or really, any sort of patterned skirt is what we're going for here, but I added the Leopard for good measure because it's #relevant. We all know I love a great silk midi dress moment, so let's cut that in half, add a splash of print, tuck in a chunky sweater and continue on our merry way. Done and dusted.
To parlay off that snippy little blurb about midi skirts, a nude sweater in cashmere (yum) is exactly what I have in mind to pair and play with this fall season. While grays and blacks are nice, a creamy nude sweater is also a great addition to fall without being so harsh. Just imagine pairing a light sweater with a lace cami or bralette peaking out, all under an oversized blazer with some PVC leggings and pointed heels and you're good to go. Layers: check. Relevance: Check. Easy fall look: check.
Or really any sort of pointy shoes will do. I love a pointed heel, and I am planning on adding a lot more to my wardrobe this fall. While the kitten heel may be on trend, I at first wasn't totally into the idea. So there I am at Zara and lo and behold I found a pair of kitten heels, with a gray plaid pattern, on sale! So I decided to snatch it up and kill two sartorial birds with one stone, and I found them to be wonderful. It gives you a little something extra without all the work that a heel would normally cause. While I still won't be adding 239312983 pairs of kitten heels to my wardrobe, it was fun to try two trends I was a little hesitant about in one piece. I will definitely be adding more pointy shoes and hopefully a few strappy options to my fall wardrobe. This is only the beginning.
And so there is my Fall Edit. While Fashion Month continues to plow ahead, and there may be much more coming down the runway, I hope you still found something worthwhile and different to try out this fall. Style is personal, and whetehr you stick to trends or look for classic pieces, trying soemthing new is alwasy fun, and there's no better time to expirment than at the start of a new season.
Here's to fall.
