I love this outfit. Is it a little bit Diane Keaton? Maybe, but who said her style was a bad thing?
I personally feel like a painter who goes to the farmer markets on the weekends in this outfit. Throw in velvet purse and you’ve just spun this outfit from farmers to brunch. It’s kind of an odd pairing. Maybe I’m the only one thinking this? The purse is so jewel toned and plush, paired with something so deconstructed and, in my mind, effortless. I mean, linen is the universal textile that can be paired with anything and plays nice with anything (minus wrinkles), but I suppose linen is also an opinion piece. Paring my very summer ensemble with velvet makes me realize I need to update my summer purse game. I guess an edit will be well underway.
Regardless, I love this color palette. Looking at these nudes and creams, it is very reminiscent of my winter wardrobe color palette. I suppose my quest for nudes and tans extends far beyond the throes of winter flurries. To be honest, I normally abhor nude garments. I do not like nude bodysuits, nude trousers, nude tank tops… none of it. So, it is very interesting to see me gravitate towards these things. So much so I found a beautifully dark caramel colored swimsuit that I found to be most elegant… it was then that it dawned on me that I am in an awakening of sorts, but the colors themselves make it look more like slumber? Well, the bag keeps one foot firmly planted in the land of creativity and whimsy, so not all hope is lost.
Is this growing up?
